Behind The Fall 17 Campaign
New York. A city of energy, optimism, and exuberant characters. Four girls, each on her own spontaneous journey, discovering self-expression, freedom, humor, and originality. Step behind the scenes and discover the making of the Fall 17 campaign.
An ode to New York City: the vibrant metropolis where DVF was founded. The campaign captures the city’s beautiful contrasts and contradictions, as well as its unique style and glamour.
Highlighting the storied and diverse history of Harlem, Tompkins Square Park, and Liberty Island, the varied locations all over Manhattan serve as colorful backdrops to showcase the modernity and creativity of the Fall collection.
Four models embody the spirit of the bold and open-minded DVF girl: Luna Bijl, Yoon Young Bae, Angok Mayen, and Cara Taylor, from The Netherlands, Korea, Sudan, and America, respectively.
Real residents of the city—break-dancers, chess players, rope jumpers—also feature in the campaign, intentionally portraying the inimitable, diverse, and intoxicating energy of the streets of New York.
Many key prints from the Fall collection take a starring role, including the abstract hand-drawn Elsden print, the bold Belmont leopard print, and the dramatic Benton floral print. The new Soirée Crossbody Bag—showcased in silver sequins and cerise velvet, but available in many more iterations—and the Saddle Evening Clutch feature as the new bags of the season.
